Review and Swatches of Urban Decay The Black Palette

Hey Everyone! I hope you are all have a good Day!!
Today I am going to be doing a quick review on the Urban Decay The Black Palette. I hope you enjoy.
Feel Free to Leave Comments Below
Don't Forget to Enter my Giveaway It ends on September 30th!!!

Follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Bloglovin

Lets get Started.....

This palette contains 6 pans of eye shadow. These colors are great to create a dramatic smokey look. There are 4 shimmer shades and 1 matte Shade. It comes with a 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner Pencil in Zero. The palette itself contains a rather large mirror, which is a plus! The box that the shadows come has a magnetic closure and it keeps everything secure.

The Shadow Shades Are:
Black Doge- Matte
Barracuda - Shimmer
Jet - Shimmer
Sabbath - Shimmer
Cobra - Shimmer
Libertine - Shimmer

These shades a sooooo pigmented! I can not even begin to describe how pigmented they are. It doesn't take a lot to get the color on your eye lid. The shadows are also easy to blend, which is very important when trying to create a dramatic eye look.

The only negative thing about this palette is there is some fall out of the shadows when they are applied. I would recommend that you apply your eye shadow prior to your foundation and powder so that it is easier to remove the fall out.
This palette I purchased at Ulta and it retails for $36.00.

My Final Thoughts:
If you are able to get your hands on this palette I would recommend it to you, especially if you LOVE to create smokey eye looks.

I hope you Enjoyed this Post!

Let's Get Started.....

1. All week long I have been wearing and Loving the Elf Baked Eye shadows! I have three of them, but the two that I have been wearing this week are toasted and bark. They are very shimmery and full of pigmentation. I have created several great warm fall looks with these. Love them! and they are only $3!! O P.S. I found mine at my Wal-Mart which I was super excited to see Wal-Mart starting to Carry Elf!

2. Revlon Lip Butter in Sugar Plum. Everyone knows how wonderful the Lip Butter's are from Revlon. This color is perfect for fall. It is a rich dark Mauve/Cranberry color and I absolutely LOVE IT.

3. Cover girl Cheekers Blush in True Plum, again a great color for fall. This blush as just a tiny bit of sheen too it so you have to be a little careful, but the overall color is perfect for my skin tone and it stays looking great all day. Although I hate the smell that cover girl makeup has.... Does anyone else get bothered by the smell? Let me know in the comments below.

4. NYX Nude Matte Eye Shadow In Skinny Dip. This is a totally Matte Eye Shadow and is AMAZING for warm Smokey eye looks. It is almost a similar color to my Sugar Plum Lip Butter... It is a warm rich burnt brown with just a hit of maroon in it. I LOVE IT! Great choice for a fall look whether it be an all over eye look or something really Smokey.

That's all I have for this week, check back next Friday for my Favorites!

The Autumn Tag

The Autumn Tag

Hey Everyone! Fall is my Favorite time of year... In Kentucky where I live it is soooo beautiful, all of the leaves are changing and it's so pretty with all of the beautiful hills.

Favorite thing about Autumn
-I think I am going to have to say the cool weather. I love wearing boots, scarves, cute lightweight jackets etc. I also love Keeneland, which in case you don't know what that is, here in Lexington, KY every October there is the fall meet at Keeneland for the horse races. It is so much fun everyone gets dressed up and goes out and bets, drinks and has a great time.
Favorite Drink
-I'm going to have to say either a Hot Tea or Apple Cider. I love the fall because I can bring out all of my hot teas and drink them at night before bed.

Fave Scent/Candle
-Currently I am obsessed with the Pumpkin Pecan Waffle Candle from Bath and Body Works! This is probably the most amazing scent ever! I tried to go back and get some more and my store and online was already sold out. I am hoping I can get my hands on a couple of more!

 Best Lipstick
-I love to wear Mauve colors this time of year, I feel they can go well with anything.

Go to Moisturizer
-Most recently I have been using the Estee Launder Resilience Lift, so far I am liking it.

Fave Go to Color for the eyes
-I love to go with gold's, cranberry's, browns and coppers

Favorite Music/Singer/Band to listen to
-Currently I don't have one particular favorite, Although on my Sirius Radio I have been rocking the 90's on 9 or the Pop2K channel...I am bringing back my middle school and high school days!

Favorite Outfit to wear
-Leggings, Tunic top made of thin t-shirt material, denim jackets, boots, hoop earrings, my Kentucky Necklace...I just love fall fashion
Autumn Treat
-Probably going to have to go with the Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream from Greater's or the Pumpkin Spice Latte From Starbucks.

Favorite Place to be
-Outside or at Keeneland which is outdoors also!!!

I hope that you all enjoyed this tag and it was certainly a lot of fun to do! I hope that you will do this tag, if you do please leave me a link in the comments below so I can be sure to read your tags!

Eye Liner Show Down! Featuring Urban Decay & NYX Eye Liners!

Hey Everyone!

I though that this would be a fun post to do..... EYELINER SHOWDOWN!
I have heard from so many people that the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On  Eyeliner Pencil is very Comparable to the NYX Slide On Eye Pencil.
I have purchased the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Eyeliner Pencil in Zero and the NYX Slide on Eye Pencil in Jet Black. Both of these shades are very rich black eyeliners, that are great for everyday or even a great smoky eye look which you will see in my photos that show where I have applied them.
The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner pencil in Zero retails for $19.00 at Ulta. The NYX Slide on Eye Pencil in Jet Black retails for $7.99 at Ulta. One favorable thing for NYX is that Ulta often does buy one get one 50% off sales for all NYX cosmetics, so if you are able to get their eyeliner on a sale like that you are able to save some bucks as well as stock up.

Sooo Let's get started on the SHOWDOWN!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eyeliner Pencil in Zero:
This eyeliner currently retails for $19.00 at Ulta for one full size pencil. These are the type of eyeliner pencils that do require a sharpener as they are not retractable. The Full size eyeliner however is a rather large eyeliner pencil so I can say that this could last you a few months depending on how often you wear eyeliner. However Ulta does have small gift sets that contain the 24/7 glide on eyeliner pencils for a set price, they often include 5 to 7 smaller size pencils, which for me is the best of both worlds because you get the Zero shade as well as some other shades to try out for not much more that what you would pay for a full size eyeliner. Currently Ulta has their Black Market value set that contains 6 eyeliners NONE of them are the shade zero that I am featuring in this blog post, this set is selling for $36. The Zero shade is a very rich dark black. I feel that it is the perfect black shade. This eyeliner slides across the lid very easily and it soooo creamy. The wearing power is amazing, it does last all day and it extremely water proof. I do have to use a really good eye make up remover to be sure that it is all off. The pencil is very easy to sharpen. The cap that covers the eyeliner is made of some type of metal or tin that I feel will protect the eyeliner from bacteria or being smashed that will ruin the pencil.  The full size product is .04 oz., which is a large amount of product. Over all this is a great eyeliner and it is worth the price.......

Now lets see how it stacks up against the NYX Slide on Eye Pencil:
The NYX Slide on Eye Pencil in Jet Black currently retails at Ulta for $7.99, but as I mentioned earlier in this post, Ulta does often have the NYX cosmetics on sale for Buy One get one 50% Off, which allows the price to be cheaper and give you the ability to stock up. This eyeliner is also an eyeliner that has to be sharpened, but it is also very easy to sharpen like the Urban Decay. A regular full size of the NYX eyeliner is .04 oz., which makes this the same size as the Urban Decay full size. The cap for the NYX eyeliner is just a standard plastic cap which does the job of preventing it from being damaged and not allowing in bacteria to get into the pencil, however with my experience these plastic caps tend to crack very easily especially if you travel with them.  The pencil is a very creamy consistency and did slide on the eye lid very easily, almost a little better than the Urban Decay. Overall I like this eyeliner and I find it to be very comparable to the Urban Decay.

Both eyeliners are great! But follow my photos below to see shots of them throughout the day! At the end of this blog I will give you my final thoughts on the eyeliners and which of the two products I feel was the best.......

Urban Decay Zero is the top Swatch and NYX Jet Black is the Bottom Swatch

Here is a photo of the Pencils. The Urban Decay Zero Is small because I have had it for a long time and use it very often.

These Photos are from 1st thing in the morning after applying the eyeliner. NYX in Jet Black is on the Left Eye and Urban Decay in Zero is on the Right Eye.
This is a Funny Picture I was not really Excited to be at Work this Morning!!!
This is a photo with my eyes closed so that you can see the colors are very close in shades.

This is at Lunch Time at 1:45pm
This is at Lunch time at 1:45pm

*** At lunch time I noticed that the Urban Decay was beginning to run under my lower lash line and into my inner corner. The color of the urban decay eye liner was not as vibrant as it was when first applied this morning. The NYX was not running at all! Color of the NYX eyeliner was still very vibrant! I will check back in this evening!!!!!

At 9:45pm before removing my makeup.

FINAL THOUGHTS
After wearing both eyeliners all day.... I happen to like the NYX eyeliner the best. I feel that the color didn't fade on it as bad and it didn't run from underneath my Lower lash line. Over all they are both good eyeliners and very  comparable, I would just say that the NYX was slightly better and it's cheaper.

Top FIVE High End Products Worth Buying

Hey Everyone! Today's Topic is going to be all about the top 5 High End Makeup Products that I think are worth the purchase. I have picked these five items because I feel that they are the most versatile and you get the best value! Plus I feel that 5 high end products are not too expensive, that I feel these are high end but yet still very affordable.
I hope you enjoy reading this and don't forget I am hosting a giveaway for my 2 Month's of Blogging... So be sure to read the post on that so you can get entered!

Let's Get Started........

1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation-- This product is amazing! As many of you may know I do love a full coverage foundation, my current favorite is the Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Foundation, however I feel that the Estee Lauder gives you the same amount of coverage with a lighter feel to it. I purchased mine at Macy's and it retails for $37.00. I am in the shade Fresco, I did have to go one shade lighter with this foundation due to the fact that it the original shade that I purchased made me look to orange. This foundation will last all day and will not rub off on clothing! Overall I think it is worth the hype and the price. Click here to buy it
This photo is barrowed from Macys.com

2. MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft N Gentle-- I love this product for a highlight. It is a very nice rose gold shade with a lot of sheen to it. It does not take a lot of product to get the pretty effect that it gives your skin, with that being said the Price of $30.00 isn't too awful bad because it does last a long time. I think that this is a must have staple in everyone's day to day make up routine. It is just an absolute beautiful shade. Click here to buy it

3. Urban Decay Naked Basics-- This is a very useful eye shadow palette. The shades that are in this palette are very neutral shades. They offer mostly matte with a shimmer shade in the palette of 6 shades total. I think that everyone would be able to wear these shades and you are able to incorporate them in to any look on a day to day basis. The compact is very small with a large mirror, which makes this palette ideal for travel or to keep in your purse for touch ups through out the day. This palette retails for $27.00 which really is not to bad.... Click Here to Buy It
This photo is barrowed from Urbandecay.com

4. Philosophy Purity Made Simple Gentle Face Cleanser-- This is a HOLY GRAIL product for me. I use this face wash every day in the morning and the night!! It is very gentle on the skin and does not have  a strong fragrance to it which makes it very tolerable to wash your face. I have used other face cleansers in the past, however I always seem to come back to this one. You get 16oz. for $33.00 at Sephora and I do believe it is worth every penny. It does not take a lot to get your face clean so the bottle will last a long time. I just love how it removes every last bit of makeup, dirt, and oil from my skin. Click here to buy it.

5. NARS Blush in Orgasm-- This is a fantastic blush! The shade is a great peach with A LOT of shimmer. There is a lot of shimmer in this blush, however I do not feel that is very noticeable once applied. This blush can work great on anyone's skin tone!! You get a lot in the product and again it does not take a lot to get the effect that you are looking for, so a little bit will go along way. It retails for $29.00 at Sephora. I think it is worth the price because it is a great shade and the quality of this blush is untouched by any other brand. Click here to Buy It.
This photos barrowed from Sephora.com

Total for all of these products is................ $156.00  That is really not bad considering your getting a full size blush, 16oz of face cleanser (which dubs as a great brush cleanser), 6 pan eye shadow palette, a full size highlighter, and a full size full coverage foundation!!!

Thank you for reading my post, I hope you enjoyed it and you found some of my suggestions to be helpful to you. If you have any other questions or have a request of a product you would like to see blogged about feel free to leave comments below!

Lorac Dazzling Dozen

Hey Everyone! Today was a really exciting day!! I went to Ulta and found the Lorac Dazzling Dozen Limited Edition Eye Shadow Collection. This is exclusively available at Ulta. This was so exciting to me because it is 12 full size individual eye shadows that are a mixture between matte and shimmer. The color selection is mostly neutrals, there are a couple of bright shades. This collection of eye shadows would be great to create some warm eye looks for the fall and winter. The price on this was $35!!! The packaging says that it is a value of $228.

Each eye shadow is a single in individual packaging. The individual eye shadows retail alone at Beautybar.com for $19 a piece currently on sale for $6 each. This kit makes them about $2.91 each. The eye shadows are the same formula as all of the Lorac eye shadows. They go on so creamy and smooth almost like butter! I am very much on love with all of these shades and I am so excited to get to use them!

Hurry out to Ulta and get yours today because they are Limited Edition!!!!!!

Limited Edition Maybelline found at CVS !

Hey Everyone! I am sorry that I have been MIA for the past few weeks, I have just had a lot going on at home and at work so the blog has been a little neglected. I just wanted to stop in and let you know of the great finds that were at my CVS today!

I ran into CVS on my lunch to pick up a card for my boss and well as many of you all know you can not go into a drug store with out browsing through the makeup areas. I was so glad that I decided to browse today because I came across some limited edition Maybelline eye studio quads, lip glosses, and lip sticks.  Lucky for me All of the Maybelline products were buy one get one 50% off at my CVS, plus I had some beauty bucks that I could apply to this purchase to have even more savings!

The first thing that I picked up was a new Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick. I picked up the color #990 Fuchsia Fierce. There are four Shades available in the limited editions but the only one that I think my Fair skin could pull off was the Fuchsia Fierce. The other colors that are available are #1005 Midnight Plum, #1000 Lavender Voltage, and #995 Violet Intrigue. All three of these shades are deep purple shades, which are great for fall, however as I said earlier my fair skin tone simply could not pull those shades off. The Fuchsia Fierce shade that I purchased is simply a hot pink lipstick very similar to the Vivids shade Fuchsia Pop, but the Fuchsia Fierce is just a tad bit deeper making it a great Look for fall.

Next I picked up two of the Limited Edition Maybelline Eye studio quads. I picked up # 140 Fall Temptation and #150  Desert Fantasy. There are again four total quads that were at my CVS however I felt that the two shades that I picks up, I would get the most use out of this fall. The quads each have 4 shades in them that range from light to dark. The Fall Temptation quad has a champagne, peach tone coral, deep copper with some shimmer, and a great matte brown. The Desert Fantasy (my favorite) has a peach tone coral, great yellow with gold shimmer, light sage green with shimmer, and a great matte navy. All of these shades will be able to create some great natural Smokey looks for the fall.

Lastly I picked up two of the Color sensational High Shine Lip Glosses I picked up two colors that I Absolutely am Loving! One is #305 Raspberry Ablaze and the other one is #310 Berry Brilliance. The Raspberry Ablaze is a great mauve berry color that is excellent for ANY skin tone and a great look for fall. The Berry Brilliance is a great hip pink with warm undertones that is also very wearable into the fall. Today I paired the Berry Brilliance with the Fuchsia Fierce together and it was simply Devine! There are several other shades in this collection and all of them seemed great, there was a great nude lip gloss that I am considering going back and picking up for myself!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! I hope that this was helpful to you and hope that you are able to get your hands on some of these limited edition items. Maybelline always seems to do it up right!

BA Star Review -- Zebra Lip Gloss

Hey Everyone! Today I am going to be reviewing a lip gloss that was sent to me from BA Star Cosmetics. This company was gracious enough to send me a sample to review for them. In reviewing their product they also provided me with a coupon code for all of my readers to use.

Visit their Website here: http://bastar.com/category_s/1517.htm
(Readers Only)  Here is a coupon code for 50% off: BBDUST
Code is valid through September 30th

So Lets get into it!

So they sent me a lip gloss that is clear and full of silver shimmer. The lip gloss on their website retails for $8.75 for a 2 pack, however I only received one lip gloss.  The packaging is in a clear tube with a zebra print top/wand. The applicator is that of a traditional applicator in other lip glosses that I have used in past. The lip gloss has a slight scent to it that is almost like a fruity minty smell. The consistency is very sticky. This I did not particularly care for because I feel like lip gloss that is too sticky doesn't wear as well. The gloss is clear, so it will wear well alone or over top another lip color. However there is a TON of silver sparkles in the gloss. This does not fit well with what I wear on a daily basis but after exploring their website some more I found that their cosmetics are geared more towards team sports, such as dance or cheerleaders. This gloss would be perfect for competitions or even games or other events. The sparkle is very apparent in each application, however it is very hard to get off. Overall the product serves the purpose that it is intended for. I would not recommend this product for every day use however I would recommend this product for those of you that do some type of competitive sports like mentioned earlier such as dance or cheerleading.  I would recommend exploring their website they sell make up bags, eye lashes, eye shadows, travel bags, and so much more.....There is a 50% off code listed above and it would be worth a try for their other cosmetics items.

I hope everyone enjoyed this review and as always feel free to leave comments or questions below!
